Accessibility

for an inclusive church

The Church and Hall are accessible to people who use wheelchairs and mobility scooters as well as people who have difficulty walking, by ramped access to both main doors.

Corridors and internal doors are generally wide enough to accomodate wheechair users and lighting in corridors and toilets is automatically controlled.

On-street parking close to both entrances and external ramps is possible but we cannot guarantee availability. We have no off-street parking.

We are working to ensure that all our printed orders of service, hymn sheets and projected text meet Action for Blind People recommendations. If you find that the material we supply is unsuitable, please talk to one of the Deacons about it and we will try to improve it before your next visit.

The Worship Area is fitted with an induction loop system for the benefit of hearing aid users (please use the ‘T’ setting on your hearing aid), and a sound amplification system benefiting all users.

Assistance dogs are of course welcome in all public areas of the building.

You are most welcome to breast-feed anywhere you are comfortable with – we will never ask you to move. However, if you would prefer privacy please ask and we will make another comfortable room available to you.

Baby changing facilities are available in the Accessible Toilet.

For babies and small children we provide toys and activities at the rear of the Worship Space during our services.

If you have requirements not mentioned above, please contact us and we will discuss with you what can be done to meet your needs. We aim to ensure that no-one is excluded from full participation in the Church’s activities.
